In less than a decade, Paintball has become one of the world's most exciting participation sports. It is a sport in which men and women, young and old compete equally. Size and strength are not as important as intelligence and determination. Like a game of chess, being able to think quickly and decisively is what makes you a star. Paintball is also a character-building sport. Players learn the importance of teamwork and gain self-confidence while developing leadership abilities. But, above all, Paintball is fun! Once the adrenaline starts pumping you can't help but love the thrill of the game!
Paintball is a team sport and is similar to many other "ball" oriented sports, in that 2 or more teams striving to achieve a goal or objective. Paintball has rules, a scoring system, referees, leagues and international tournaments. It is a combination of tag, hide and seek, and human chess. The sport of Paintball is a non--contact, action-packed, physical and mental activity and is the most fun you will ever experience.
People often think of paintball as a "wargame". The fact is that it is an internationally recognised competition team sport with both professional and amateur players. Paintball teaches co-operation, teamwork and friendly competition. Unlike other sports, violence has no place in the game of paintball.
Paintball has a positive influence on the community, the family and the work place. Paintball is hailed as one of the most effective forms of stress release and is used extensively in the USA, Europe and Scandinavia for corporate situations to boost teamwork, self-confidence and control stress. It is also a family-orientated sport, reinforcing the same virtues. Paintball also has a great deal to offer the youth in our community in terms of self-confidence, motivation and a sense of achievement.
Due to the lack of land in Singapore, we play a different version of Paintball known as Speedball. Speedball is a faster, more technical game of paintball. It is normally played on a open field with small barriers placed in certain areas. Spectators and the media can easily follow a game as it unfolds. Speedball is entertaining and exciting to watch and will easily attract spectators and therefore the media. Speedball is an exciting sport, as well as a fun leisure activity. Once people watch a game of speedball, they will want to play it.

History
of Paintball
Paintball is still a very young sport. It came into being in 1981 when the US Forestry Service invented a dye-marking pistol for the purpose of marking trees. The Cattleman's Association adopted this idea of dye marking, and applied it to cattle as an alternative to branding. It is belived that the first game of Paintball was between cowboys who, while sitting around the campfire one night, decided to shoot each other with the dye marking pistols.
The game has evolved considerably over the past years. The most important changes have been in the adoption of rules and equipment designed to make the game safe and fun for all to play. TOP

"Paintballs" are the 0.68 caliber balls that the paintguns shoot. Paintballs are small spherical balls made of a thin gelatin case filled with biodegradable, water-soluble dye, which is environmentally friendly. When fired from a paintgun, it will burst on contact and leave a paint splat marking a person or object in the game. Since they are "water based", they will wash out of MOST clothing, but never wear GOOD clothes to play paintball.
The Birth of a Paintball
Softgels are made on special, very expensive, softgel encapsulating machines. In 1933, Robert Scherer designed and patented the first such machine. Here's how a softgel encapsulation machine works:

Does it hurt to get hit by a Paintball ?
Not really...The paintballs are designed to break open upon impact. You will most likely feel a sting from the paintball hitting your skin, but it doesn't really feel much different than a wet towel snap. TOP
Will getting hit by a Paintball leave a mark ?
This depends on the range of the hit, yes... sometimes getting hit by a Paintball will leave a small ring like mark. This mark usually disappears within a few days, and most people like to show it off to their friends. TOP
How SAFE is the sport of Paintball ?
Paintball has one of the most injury free records of any sport. Insurance statistics rank it as less of a risk than even golf, or bowling. Like any physical sport it has it's risks. But if proper safety procedures are followed carefully and proper equipment is used then paintball can be very safe. The most important rule to follow is to use a mask designed specifically for paintball. Goggles, glasses, or any other eye protection not designed for the sport WILL NOT work. Your eye is the only part of the human body that a paintball can permanently damage. Never play paintball without wearing the proper protection for your face, and your eyes. TOP
What is a Paintgun and how does it work?
Paintguns, or "Markers" as some people call it, are special made guns that shoot paintballs. There are MANY different kinds of markers in the market, from Semi Automatic to the Pump . Most fields use Semi Automatic guns. Each paintgun works differently ,but basic operations are usually the same.
Hopper - The large bladder like feeder that sits at the top of the paintgun, known as the HOPPER, feeds the paintball into the gun using the GRAVITY FEED principal, in other words... you cant shoot a paintgun upside down. As one ball is shot from the gun, another one drops down from the "Hopper" into the paintgun's chamber. Hoppers can differ in size, some Hoppers will hold 100 Paintballs, some will hold 300+... but the average field hopper will hold 150-200 Paintballs. TOP
Power - Paintguns usually get their power from three sources, tanks filled with either C02, Nitrogen Gas or Compressed Air, but Co2 is used by most players because the tanks that hold the other gases must be wrapped in Kevlar which makes them more expensive. When the paintball drops from the hopper into the chamber, gas from the tank is released by squeezing the trigger which propels the paintball out of the barrel.
If you wish to play in Asia, there are several countries that have paintball
fields available. Please click on the respective country for more information - Singapore, Phuket, Kulau Lumpur and Terengganu.
How much does it cost to play on average ?
Based on 10 players, a typical event cost $55 (day game) and $60 (night game) with 200 paintballs per person. Bring enough money for extra paintballs. Plan on shooting 200-300 paintballs per person during the day event. Some people shoot more, some people shoot less. It's all in how you play. We accept cash and NETS Only. Wear comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting dirty. Preferably, you should wear dark clothing with long sleeves. Don't worry about the paint splats as it will wash out easily in normal washing, but you'll be running, crawling, crouching and kneeling a lot. Better to be comfortable than stylish.
Wear good outdoor shoes that provide ankle support. Sprained ankles are the #1 cause of injury in many sports and Paintball is no exception. Having good ankle support reduces the risk of injury .
A game duration is between 1 to 10 minutes. For a group of 20 players & below, the group will have the field for approximately 2 hours. The group can play as many games within the allocated time.
Group Size |
Duration |
| 20 players & below | 2 hrs |
| 30 players | 3 hrs |
| 40 players | 3 1/2 hrs |
| 50 players | 4 hrs |
| 60 players & above | 5 - 6 hrs |
The lights for the night games are designed to simulate a game being played under a moonlight effect. A night game will be more challenging than a day game as there will be many shadows cast and players/targets cannot be seen very clearly. Players have to play the game tactically as you see only silhouettes to take aim. Missions will be more difficult to accomplish.
Paintball is an outdoor adventure game, we play rain or shine as long it does not compromise on the safety of the players.
